The CEWE Group

Our working relationships are based on integrity, fairness and responsibility.

A man who shaped the company, like no other, stands at the heart of CEWE's history: company founder Senator h.c. Heinz Neumüller. He guided the photographic service provider from being a small lab and retail business in Oldenburg to become a leading European company.

CEWE – a success storyOur roots lie in Northern Germany – our sites throughout Europe.

The CEWE COLOR photo lab in Oldenburg, established in 1961, represents the foundation stone of the CEWE Group today. Following the successful transformation from analogue to digital photo products, alongside photofinishing, we also set up a new division for the online printing of advertising materials. The company has 12 production plants and some 3,600 employees in 25 countries. We supply 20,000 retail customers Europe-wide. CEWE was established by Senator h. c. Heinz Neumüller and was listed as a corporation on the German Stock Exchange in 1993 by Hubert Rothärmel. CEWE Stiftung & Co. KGaA is listed on the SDAX and in 2017 recorded a Group turnover of €599,4 million.

Central BuyingOur Central Buying department is synonymous with integrated quality management.

We continuously intensify our cooperation through ongoing improvement of our operational and strategic planning. We require suitable and high-performing partners to extend our leadership in terms of cost, quality, process and innovation, which is the reason why we wish to further enhance our supplier portfolio.

Code of Conduct (BME)We pursue the objective of establishing the minimum standard of a Code of Conduct alongside our ethical principles.

At the start of 2010, CEWE signed up to the Code of Conduct of the Federal Association of Materials Management and Buying e.V. Reputable companies from the most diverse sectors are also involved in this compliance initiative.

Apart from ethical concerns, both CEWE and the BME pursue the aim of creating a solid yet workable minimum standard as a Code of Conduct.

The BME Code of Conduct encompasses the following fundamental rules and principles:

  • Combat of corruption
  • Anti-competition agreements
  • Child and forced labour
  • Compliance with ethical principles towards suppliers
