Specialist departments

Marketing / SalesAlways be ahead of the pack in Marketing and Sales!

This is where we create a buzz about our products! The ideas that have made us so successful originate in Marketing and Sales. Naturally we leave nothing to chance: we coordinate the entire process from product development, to development of marketing activities and presentation at the POS and online. It goes without saying that our department is made up of many different sections in which many specialists work. As already mentioned, they look after pure product development, as well as developing marketing concepts, carry out acquisitions, promotions and market observations, look after customers and organise online marketing as well as press and PR work.

Our aim: satisfied customers! That's why we expand our product range and services every year to make the CEWE brand name even better known. In our experience, we only achieve this because we share our emotional bond to our products with our customers. After all, we get excited every time we hold in our hands our top-quality ideas as high-resolution prints on mugs, pillows or phone cases.

ITAlways be ahead of the pack in IT/Software Development

The software behind each and every product is as individual as our CEWE PHOTOBOOKS, CEWE greeting cards, CEWE Calendars and many other printed products. It goes without saying that we therefore develop and maintain this in-house. After all, we are the only ones who precisely understand the high standards we have to meet: it is with good reason that we work with the latest high-level languages, design and develop our own enterprise web-based architectures and always deliver the necessary infrastructure to perfectly prepare print orders for production.

It is immaterial whether our customers design and order their products online, offline or on the go. Within the IT team it's all about jointly pursuing new ideas and technologies, furthering development and adapting our processes and systems accordingly. We successfully meet these challenges with the necessary space and freedom that we give our employees in their working life and by constantly thinking outside the box technically. How otherwise could we succeed time and time again in completing up to 200,000 print jobs every day in the right colour and format? Become an integral part our modern development processes!

ProductionAlways be ahead of the pack in Production

This is where CEWE's heart truly beats! Our Production department is where individualised print products, from small to large format are produced, printed materials are bound, sewn, grooved and folded, and ultimately checked for quality, packaged and shipped just-in-time. Who's responsible for this? A host of employees, including production assistants, machine operators, department managers, project managers, IT specialists and engineers, who all ensure that all printed products exude strong bright colours and ultimately that our customers' eyes gleam.

We could span the planet with the pages we print every year for our CEWE PHOTOBOOKS. A huge volume of work! We are only able to successfully cope with this huge volume with satisfied and highly motivated employees whose ideas are listened to and rapidly implemented. We're looking for talented individuals! Flat hierarchies await you, in which you deal with your colleagues on an equal footing and in a family-orientated working environment.

You'll always be ahead of the pack with our jobs!

Take a look through our job vacancies to see whether we have a vacant position close to you. Take a look!

AdministrationAlways be ahead of the pack in Administration!

Although it is virtually invisible to customers, our Administration division, with its various Buying, Finance and Financial Control, Legal, HR and Management and Executive Board sub-sections, represents a key interface as well as the nerve centre of the company and successfully holds together the entire CEWE construct with its different sites. This is where the strategically important decisions on company development are made – firstly to maximise profit and, secondly to minimise risks – and new ideas for processes and innovative products are initiated.

Why can we do that? Because, in spite of our actual day-to-day office jobs, we lend a hand in Production from time to time so that we really understand in detail how the place runs. Because we cooperate in an international network of professional and versatile colleagues. And because we don't just offer ongoing training in a wide range of directions, but can also work with the latest tools. All that combined with the fun and success of our daily work!

University cooperationYou'll always be ahead of the pack with a university cooperation.

We have to promote younger people. That's why we are constantly initiating a host of interesting projects focussing on the intensive exchange between research, teaching and practice. At our production site in Mönchengladbach we work closely with the University of Applied Sciences for Media Technology in Cologne, the University for Printing and Media Technology in Wuppertal and the University of Niederrhein. We offer two to three scholarships (Cologne) every year, supervise project, Bachelor and Master's dissertations (Cologne and Wuppertal), organise guided lab tours and organise an annual programming competition for first-year students (Cologne). We also sponsor the photochemistry and photo paper for the mini-lab at Cologne University of Applied Sciences sponsored by CEWE and occasionally award market research commissions (University of Niederrhein).

We also wish to give young talent a financial helping hand and annually award five scholarships to young doctoral students at the University of Oldenburg together with the Neumüller Foundation. Not yet heard enough about us? Then attend a talk given by one of our speakers at the universities in Bremen and Oldenburg.

Is CEWE not yet cooperating with your university/university of applied sciences?

During the course of your training we will also teach you how to successfully plan your own campaigns and projects and monitor their workflows and results.

That's why it makes sense to get to know CEWE while you're still at school. A school work placement or internship is perfect to give you a couple of taster days at CEWE to find out what career path you would like to follow.

Seasonal work

Always be ahead of the pack as a seasonal worker!

You are warmly invited to apply to CEWE even if you only wish (or can) do temporary work! During our peak time before Christmas – more precisely from 1 October to 30 December – we have quite a lot of work and therefore a number of temporary positions to fill.

What do we expect from you? That you have a willingness to learn new things and that we can rely on you. You should also be physically fit, speak German and be reasonably flexible in terms of working hours. CEWE operates alternating shifts and also works at weekends.

And what can you expect from us? You will receive an attractive hourly wage as well as enjoying a friendly working environment and regulated working conditions.

Get ahead with initiative!

Have you not been able to find a job that suits you amongst our job vacancies and yet would still like to apply to CEWE? Then take the initiative and send us your application documents!

Application process

To be perfectly honest: no two application processes are the same! The positions in our company are much too varied for that. However, by way of initial orientation, here's some information that applies to all departments.

(Online) application

Essentially we are happy to receive all applications – whether electronic or using the trusty old-fashioned postal service. However, most of all we appreciate you using our online application tool, which simply takes you step by step through to the "Apply now" button.

Confirmation of receipt

As soon as we have received your application, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of receipt. That way you can be certain that your documents have safely arrived.

The length of the application process seriously depends on the target group. It is essentially our aim that the entire process – from initial contact to hopefully a positive outcome – should not take longer than five to six weeks. It could take a little longer depending on how full both diaries are – but it could also be quicker.

Document checking

Once you have successfully submitted your application, it's now down to waiting. And for us? We have to check your documents. If we like your application, we will most definitely contact you a second time – this time by the HR Department.

Interview

The interview (rarely by phone) generally takes place with a member of staff from the respective department and the HR Department. You should prepare yourself for general questions about you, individual sections of your CV and your specialist knowledge. And naturally we would also like to know why you are interested in this specific position and in CEWE as an employer.

However, the interview should not be regarded as one-sided – naturally we would be happy to answer any questions that you might like to put to us.

Appointment

Congratulations and welcome to the CEWE Team! Our HR Department will advise you about the next steps and your start date at CEWE. Any questions? We'd naturally be glad to help you!

Hints when applying

Your application is like a good photo – the first impression counts. There's no second chance! Your application is therefore more than just a business card, as it should briefly provide an intriguing picture of your qualifications and interests. That's why we would recommend first completing our online application form. We'd like to draw your attention to a few fundamentals:

1. Make sure that your application documents are complete. A good application generally includes:

  • Covering letter
  • Curriculum vitae
  • All relevant certificates

2. Briefly give us an impression of you as a person and your reasons for moving in your covering letter:

  • For which position are you applying?
  • Why are you precisely interested in this position?
  • What do you expect from your new work?
  • Why are you particularly suitable for this job?

3. Attach your up-to-date CV:

  • Structure your CV in tabular form.
  • Begin with your last job.

4. Arouse our interest in you:

  • Mention relevant hobbies or personal interests in your CV.
  • Write your covering letter so that we are keen to learn more about you.
  • Tell us what you could add to our company.
  • Give us reasons to invite you for an interview.

Have you thought of everything? Then we look forward to receiving your application!

Interview hints

We have invited you to an interview in person? You've therefore already successfully overcome a major obstacle. Here are a few suggestions to consider:

Take your time! Plan in a little extra time for your journey and arrive in as calm a state as possible. To get to know you better, we will discuss your previous career with you as well as your personal reasons for moving. You should prepare yourself for this in advance. Consider as well what experience and skills qualify you for this position and how you overcome challenges. These examples can either come from your professional or private/social life.

We also expect applicants to be interested in our company. Therefore find out more information about CEWE and our products, either on our website or by reading our brochures. Consider the questions you might like to ask and: dress smartly!
